The RA-VO was built specifically for voiceover — developed with Jordan Reynolds, a VO talent and producer well-regarded in the industry, for booth work rather than general studio recording.
Voiced for spoken word: clean low end, controlled presence, a top end that doesn't need correcting in post. A built-in high-pass filter handles proximity and rumble at the source.
It tends to work best for narrative, character, and longer-form reads where natural tone matters more than edge or push. Less about cutting through. More about sitting inside the story.
Discontinued in 2018, the RA-VO still shows up in working VO booths for a reason.
